PROJECT NAME: CHAOS ORDER

PROJECT TYPE: Motion Design and Menu

DATE: 2025

PROJECT LENGTH: 3 months

THE BRIEF: Design and animate a video game main menu inspired by Metal Gear Solid and Deus Ex. The interface will feature high-tech visuals, sleek motion transitions, and cinematic atmosphere while ensuring usability. Deliverables include an animated prototype, style guide, and source files, with concepts, revisions, and final delivery on schedule.

THE SOLUTION: The solution involved creating a motion design background and gaming-inspired interface that drew from the cinematic, high-tech aesthetics of Metal Gear Solid and Deus Ex. The background incorporated subtle motion elements to evoke atmosphere, while the interface used layered data-inspired visuals, sleek transitions, and clear navigation to ensure both immersion and usability.

PROCESS: The process began with concept development and research. I analyzed the visual language of games that influenced me growing up, compiling a PureRef reference board to establish a cohesive design direction. Drawing inspiration from titles such as Metal Gear Solid and System Shock, Half Life and Armored Core, I focused on a futuristic, high-tech aesthetic with a strong emphasis on HUD (heads-up display) elements.

Using Adobe Illustrator, I designed a stylized DNA strand, deconstructing it into modular, geometric forms reminiscent of sci-fi grid systems and infographic structures. This approach reinforced the futuristic and data-driven aesthetic.

Once the vector assets were finalized, I imported them into After Effects for animation and composition. Utilizing the 3D camera tool, I introduced depth through controlled parallax effects and motion blur, enhancing the illusion of space and realism.

Upon finishing the animation I returned to Illustrator to design the title card and main menu UI components, ensuring visual consistency with the existing motion design elements.

The final step involved bringing the composition into Premiere Pro, where I integrated audio design and applied additional refinements to polish the final piece.
